Decisions based on data are vastly superior to those motivated by intuition or gut feelings. In the experimental sciences and interdisciplinary research, data analysis has become an integral part of any scientific study. Statistics is critical at this juncture because it is the tool that we need to basis our decisions on.

Recent decades have witnessed a significant progress in statistical methods for data analysis in a wide range of disciplines. Thanks to these developments, researchers are able to analyze complex data conveniently, and to evaluate the phenomena under study more accurately.

Statistics has achieved unprecedented prominence in virtually all branches of science. As a statistician, I strive to keep up with the latest advances in my expertise area. Toward this end, topics with applied orientation are at the center of my interest. Problems that I have worked on include sampling designsMonte Carlo methods, and goodness-of-fit tests.
